A Varrox vaporiser is a specially designed applicator to apply Api-Bioxal crystals for control of varroa mites. This is effective during broodless periods and is most in demand from November to January.
The equipment runs off a 12V car battery which is also provided. We have 2 varrox vaporisers available to loan and they are only available to members who have previously attended the Api-Bioxal sublimation training at the apiary due to the health and safety risks involved in the handling of oxalic acid based treatments. Requests for loan of the equipment are made by emailing either [email protected] for collection at Kippen or keyhoneybees@gmail.com for collection in Stirling. Full instructions are provided with the equipment.
Please note, the Api-Bioxal crystals and organic acid respirator mask are not provided.
