For our existing members, we host evening lectures on the first Tuesday of the month from September to April. These are on a wide range of bee-related topics. View upcoming evening lectures here.
We support members who wish to enrol in the SBA module exams. We meet in small study groups to work through the module syllabus together.
Mentoring for members – Beekeeping is a constant process of learning. We believe that there are a number of beginners and intermediates who don’t know or don’t feel comfortable seeking the support they need to become better beekeepers. To meet these needs, we have introduced a mentoring service through an online help desk tool. If you have a question about your colony please don’t hesitate to get in touch here with an outline of your query and one of the mentoring team will respond within 24 hours.
We are an active association, with more than 200 members. We have meetings throughout the year with summer apiary visits, and winter lectures from experts in various fields.
Membership qualifies you for a discount on equipment purchased through the Thorne’s bulk order which is placed annually, usually in February for delivery in March.
We have also negotiated a discount with Abelo.
Bee feed, nitrile gloves and jars are available to purchase at an attractive price.
The Association has invested in larger, more expensive equipment which is available for members to borrow free of charge.
