Varrox Training

Treatment with an oxalic acid based product is effective in our management of varroa.  The treatment is administered either by trickle or by sublimation during broodless periods when the varroa mite is not protected by the capped cell.  This window of opportunity lies somewhere between mid-November and the end of December.

DSBA has 2 varrox sublimation devices which are available for members to borrow.  Oxalic Acid sublimation carries a risk to you, and only members who have attended DSBA’s health and safety training in the use of varrox are able to borrow the kit.

We are holding a training session on Sunday 27th October at DSBA apiary.  The training session will be a mock demonstration so there is no need for you to bring any equipment with you.  This session is also open to members who have previously attended a training session and would like to refresh their knowledge.  Please register here.
